If I may share with you my two-decade long professional business experience, I think the best example I can give you how a company and its owners fall victim of stress mainly from competition, financial mismanagement, government regulations and employee costs.  I’ve seen many companies fallen for not taking care of the above business issues in time.  In the cases of the failed companies, unnecessary spending of marketing budget (sunk cost fallacy) by throwing good money after bad marketing ideas in the false hope to combat competition by showy marketers comes in sight.  In those companies, financial advisors being too timid to whistle-blow expedited the collapse. In financial management, they forgot to apply the fundamentals of money management- i.e., cut your coats according to your clothes (matching principle of accounting to match business costs with earned revenue). There are instances of over-activities of over-zealous management on borrowed money ignoring the importance of being rational. Government regulations in the forms of TAX, VAT & Customs duty eventually penalized those mismanaged companies because the regulators simply understand the matching principle (e.g, match income with bank statements, match expenses with tax deduction and real proofs. If not matched, add back these items to income to tax and duty at applicable rates!)  Obsessed, overconfident, self-centered employees took the advantages of the leniency of the owners’ entrepreneurial spirit and trust. Agency-costs prevailed. All these result in STRESS for the owners of a company. Wrong advice worsened the situation. As Sophocles rightly said, “No enemy is worse than bad advice”.
